The Strictly Ravelry Group

Last year I started a Strictly Come Dancing group on Ravelry which has really gone from strength to strength this year. Delle thought it would be fun if we had a Strictly Sweepstake this year so 16 of us put our names into a hat (well, randon number generator actually) and who'da thunk it, I got Tom Chambers and actually won something for the first time in my life!

I've received some beautiful things so far, so thanks very much to button, pmcblonde, northernlights and manfieldknitter for everything you've sent me. Here are a few piccies, do take a look at my flickr account for some more. MrK is so thrilled with the socks from pmcblonde, thanks again so much for taking the time to knit them for him. I can't wait to do it all again this year!

The cutest munchkin ever!

I managed to get a snap of my friend Carla's beautiful little 18 month old girl today. She cheered up what was otherwise an extremely poopy day at work. We all get the bus home which passes by Carla's childminder's house so she picks her up on the way past every day, slightly unusual but it works! This is little Jaya on the bus today. I love her and want a clone, I think she's definitely going to end up in showbiz!

First post ever!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog, I've finally got round to starting my own, because they're aren't enough already on the interweb?! I thought the start of a brand new year was a good time to do it.

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading some of the many fantastic knitting blogs online and hope to be able to contribute a little bit of my own knitting madness! I'm also knitting again after Christmas, the feeling has just about returned to my fingers after the mountain of gift knitting I did this Christmas! I've knitted myself the wonderful Slouchy Copy Cat Hat from slomoknits, I'm really pleased with how it came out as I've been after a slouchy hat for ages. I used some aran weight wool from the clever Amanda at the Natural Dye Studio, I'm afraid I bought it over a year ago so I don't know what it's called but I absolutely luuuuuurve the colours!

I also bought a new and very sexy 8 GB Sony NWZA728 MP3 player as my cheapo one broke last year, I have of course knitted a cozy for it and I used the leftover wool from my new hat! I'll write the pattern up properly and get it up here ASAP for anyone who might have the same player. Sony if you're listening, can you give your gadgets better names please?!

I've also started knitting a sssssssnake draft excluder for our little house, there's a roaring gale whistling under our hall door. I've found a couple of patterns on the web but they didn't tickle my fancy so I'm just making up my own. I'll let you know how I get on and post some photos and the pattern. I have got as far as cutting out a lovely big forked tongue out of red felt!

Feeling a bit miserable today as my SO has kindly passed his cold/cough on to me, oh joy. So far I'm drinking lots of hot tea and eating mandarins to up my vitamin C!
